Peer Review

All submitted manuscripts are reviewed through ‘double-blind’ peer review process that means the identities of the authors are kept confidential from the reviewers, and vice versa.
All submissions are initially assessed by the Chief Editor, who decides whether or not the article fits the scope of the journal and is suitable for peer review. Submissions considered suitable are assigned to two or more independent experts, who assess the article for clarity, validity, and sound methodology.
The journal operates a double-blind peer review process, meaning that authors and reviewers remain anonymous for the review process. The review period is expected to take around four to six weeks. Reviewers are asked to provide formative feedback, even if an article is not deemed suitable for publication in the journal.
Based on the reviewer reports the editor will make a recommendation for rejection, minor or major revisions, or acceptance. Overall editorial responsibility rests with the journal’s Editorial Board.

Review Process has the following steps:

  1. Editors first review the submitted manuscript called initial review by the editors. It will be desk evaluated whether the submitted manuscript is suitable for the LC International Journal of STEM, based on scope and adhering to the submitted paper template.
  2. Furthermore, the manuscript will be sent to at least two anonymous reviewers (Double-Blind Peer-Review) and it will take four (04) to Six (06) weeks.
  3. The anonymous reviewers comments are then sent to the corresponding author for necessary actions and responses. Afterwards, the editorial team suggested the final decision to the revised manuscript by authors.
  4. Finally, the Editor will send the final decision to the corresponding author.
  5. The accepted manuscript then continued to the copyediting and layout editing process to prepare the camera-ready paper.

Originality and Plagiarism Policy

LC International Journal of STEM (LC-JSTEM) Editorial board recognizes that plagiarism is not acceptable and therefore establishes the following policy stating specific actions (penalties) upon identification of plagiarism/similarities in articles submitted for publication. LC-JSTEM will use Turnitin’s originality checking software as the tool in detecting similarities of texts in article manuscripts and the final version articles ready for publication. A maximum of 18% of similarities is allowed for the submitted papers. Should we find more than 18% of the similarity index, the article will be returned to the author for correction and re-submission.

LC-JSTEM open access publishing will check plagiarism for all the articles before prior publication. If the plagiarism content is observed by editors, peer reviewers or by editorial staff members at any stage of publication process at the time of editing or proof reading will be informed to author to rewrite the manuscript. In any case if the submitted original manuscript is more than 18% plagiarized then the article will be rejected and the same will be notified to author.
